Obituary of V. Catherine Richards

Virginia Catherine Richards (always known as "Catherine") passed away peacefully on Friday February 18, 2022.

Born February 12, 1935 in Belvidere N.J., she was the daughter of the late Horace Smith and Rose Brader Latourette. Catherine, a high school graduate, attended Belvidere High School.

She was employed at Hunterdon Developmental Center in Clinton, NJ as a Central Supply Technician. She was thankful having been able to retire and thereafter enjoy many years doing those things she most enjoyed. Catherine loved to travel, gardening, bingo, motorcycle rides and spending time with her loving family and friends.

Catherine was married to Kenneth "Tuck" Richards for 48 years. Together they raised their three children, having made their home in Hampton N.J.

Catherine attended the Hampton Methodist Church and was actively involved in the Hampton Recreational Association. She greatly enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren play various sports and was always first to volunteer or organize.

After having retired, Catherine and "Tuck" returned to Belvidere, living at Country View Village. 

In addition to her parents, Catherine was predeceased by her husband Ken "Tuck" Richards; a brother Richard; three sisters Mary, Bessie and Brenda.

Catherine is survived by son Kenneth Richards of Belvidere NJ; son Josef Richards and his wife Gayle of Gendale Arizonia; daughter Karen Staples and her husband Gary of Easton PA; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother Raymond Latourette; sister June Cole and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Friday February 25, 2022 11am at MacFadden Funeral Home, 325 Hardwick St., Belvidere N.J. Interment will follow in the Belvidere Cemetery. Friends may call from 10am to time of funeral service at 11am at the funeral home.
