Obituary of Susie Clifford

On Wednesday, November 2, 2022, our dear mother and friend, Susie Clifford passed over to heaven peacefully at the age of 95.

Susie was the loving wife of Frank Clifford for 45 years until his passing on September 13, 1991.

She was born October 20,1927 in Easton, PA and was the daughter of the late Leonard and Maria Falcone. She graduated Phillipsburg High School class of 1946 and shortly thereafter married Frank Clifford and moved to Knowlton Township where she spent all her life tending to the family farm. She was a loving caring woman who always put everyone else’s needs before her own.

Susie was a member of the Delaware Presbyterian Church and was always ready to volunteer her help whether it be at the church, the Knowlton Township Fire Company or the Knowlton Township Lions Club. She enjoyed gardening and cooking, especially baking. She was known to make the world’s best lemon and coconut cream pies, sticky buns and molasses cookies. Susie was happiest at the kitchen table surrounded by family, neighbors and friends and there was always a place at the table for anyone who stopped by. She was dearly loved and will be forever missed.

Susie is survived by two sons, William Clifford and his wife, Twila of Knowlton Township, Leonard Clifford and his wife Ann of Knowlton Township; a brother, Emil Falcone of Harmony Township; two granddaughters, Tammy Houck and her husband Troy of Stroudsburg, PA, Billie Jo Donovan and her fiancé Michael Hannon of Washington, NJ; three great- grandchildren Zachary, Hailey and Rachel and a great great-granddaughter, Hazel Jo.

In addition to her husband Frank, Susie was predeceased by her sister, Josephine Falcone of Harmony Township and a grandson in- law John Donovan of Washington, NJ. 

Family and friends are invited to a visitation at the MacFadden Funeral Home. 325 Hardwick Street Belvidere, NJ on Friday, November 18, 2022, from 6:00- 8:00 pm and Saturday, November 19^, 2022, from 10:00 am- 11:00 am with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 am. Interment will be at Ramseyburg Cemetery, Delaware, NJ.
