Obituary of Dolores J. Glander

Dolores J. (Van Blarcom) Glander, 92, of the Brookfield section of White Township, NJ, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 6, 2022 at her home at the Chelsea Assisted Living Facility. Dolores was born on January 28, 1930 in Teaneck, NJ. She was the daughter of the late Douglas Van Blarcom and Elizabeth (Keeble) Van Blarcom. Dolores was happily married to Warren Glander for 56 years until he passed in December of 2007. 

Dolores graduated from Bogota High School and later in life took several courses at Bergen Community College.  Dolores was a devoted wife and mother, not much of a housekeeper, but more focused on the lives of her growing family. Her children and her husband were her jewels. Dolores was the family matriarch, always there for family and her friends. She sang in the Brookfield Choral group, was active in the Red Hats and delivered Meals on Wheels.  Dolores was always an avid reader, crafter, knitter and always took the time to care for others. She loved the color blue, Jeopardy, driving her Honda sports car fast and leading craft sessions with her grandchildren.

Dolores was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, Washington, NJ and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star of NJ for over 50 years. 

Surviving are her four children, Deborah J. Turner and her husband Michael, Douglas J. Glander and his wife Joan, Kate Rothman and her husband Carl, and John H. Glander and his wife Jennifer; 15 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. 

To celebrate Dolores J. Glander’s life, a Memorial Service will be held at MacFadden Funeral Home, 325 Hardwick Street, Belvidere NJ 07823 on Saturday, December 3, 2022 at 10:30am.  

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in memory of Dolores J. Glander to Saint Jude Children’s Hospital.
