I don’t know where to begin. Lynn and I are sisters, four years apart, and bonded in a way like no other by the passing of our father at such an early age. She was 8 and I was 4, and our lives changed forever from that day on. Lynn was my best friend, my big sister, a second mother, my biggest fan and always my cheerleader. My heart is broken and life will never be the same without her in it. I miss her every single minute of every single day. I can’t imagine how our family will go on without her love, support and wisdom. Words simply cannot express what Lynn has meant to so many, but especially myself. Lynn saved me, and I miss her more than I can ever express.
I had the pleasure of working with Lynn in the mid 90's when we need to save the Belvidere Pool- there wasn't anything she wouldn't try to make this succeed-she even took the class to be a certified pool operator with Ben Ritter when we needed one to open up. She was committed to her family and her community. We should all carry her commitment with us in the future and remember what a difference it can make. My condolences to all of her family -she will be missed
Lynn was like a 2nd mother to me growing up. She always made me laugh, cooked us dinners, took us on adventures and listened to our stories. She was full of life, love and care for those around her. She also told the absolute best stories. I will never forget her. Sending my love and lots of hugs to the family.
Where to begin... Aunt Lynnie was such an amazing person. I remember all the times we spent together, laughing, playing games, telling stories.
My earliest memories are our trips to Belvidere to visit. Jess, Dave, Jay and I would spend hours playing at the park across the street. Since we didn’t live close we always made sure to make the most of our time together which meant weekends full of family time.
Victorian days was a fond memory I cherish, spending the day dressed in Victorian garb helping Aunt Lynn show off her Victorian home. Jess asking people to “Exit through your rear”. ;) Each time we spent together was filled with laughter, stories and joy.
Aunt Lynn was always up for a new experience with family. I remember the ski trip where Aunt Lynnie tore her ACL the first time down the slopes. We didn’t think it was a big fall but that was the end of her skiing career.
I loved our annual tradition when we'd go shopping at the Crossings, spend the days finding deals. Spend the nights drinking wine, eating good food and showing off your great deals.
Once Aunt Lynn met Rob, our family expanded and we were given two new cousins, Mollie and Jon. We were so excited to have more family!
When I moved up to North Jersey fresh out of college, I was starting a new job and coming to terms with what the real world was like. It was a tough transition. It was the first time out on my own and I was far away from my family. But Aunt Lynnie and Uncle Rob made that transition for me a whole lot easier by allowing me to stay with them. That’s the kind of woman she was, always doing for others, ensuring her family was taken care of.
Once I moved out on my own, she made sure to send me on my way with some of her tried and true recipes, some Christmas decorations. Gotta have those Christmas decorations. We all know how much Aunt Lynnie loved Christmas!
I am forever grateful for her hospitality and love during that transition in my life.
With my family 2 hours away Aunt Lynnie was there for me during some other important moments in my life. Anytime I ended up in the hospital, she was there by my side being there when my mother couldn’t. Ensuring I knew I was loved.
When Olivia was born, I was a new overwhelmed mom dreading the day when Ralf had to go back to work. Aunt Lynnie showed up, made me some eggs and allowed me to get my self together so I could take care of the baby.
We shared so many great memories at the lake house with the whole crazy McCullough crew. Swimming in the lake, playing volleyball or kickball. Telling stories around the campfire. Waking up to the amazing, calming serene view of the lake. If you were lucky enough to be the first one up with Aunt Lynnie you would see her in her element, sitting on the deck, sipping her tea, enjoying the lake in its full glory. She would wake up singing on those days. It’s a memory I’ll cherish forever.
There are so many lessons she taught me about keeping a house, recipes, relationships. I always valued her perspective and advice. She was an amazing person whose memories, lessons and love I will carry with me always.
Rest In Peace Lynn, your family is in our prayers . You will be missed . I will remember the great conversations we had on the sidelines.
