Timothy Ritter, 80, of Belvidere, NJ passed away Sunday December 25, 2022 just two weeks after his 80th birthday at the Phillipsburg Care Center, Phillipsburg, NJ.

Born in Easton, PA on December 14, 1942, he was the son of the late Thomas F. and Mary Atwood Ritter.

Tim was a graduate of Belvidere High School and Fairleigh Dickinson University. After college Tim served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam war from 1964 to 1971.

Tim was the former owner of Ritter Hardware located on Greenwich Street and a former employee of L.E. Ritter Lumber Company. He also worked as a janitor for the Belvidere School District and later as a school bus driver for local children.

Tim was a fireman on Island Dragway for over 20 years. He was involved with the Boy Scouts of America and the Belvidere Scout Home Association. He loved to read, crossword puzzles, and enjoy his yearly camping trips with friends and family.

Surviving are his wife, Deborah Cullen Ritter; a son, Gregory; a daughter, Sarah; siblings, Christopher, Nicholas, Abigail, Deborah, and Benjamin; many nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Gathering with Military Honors will be held from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Saturday, February 4, 2023 at MacFadden Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to the town he loved so much by considering the Belvidere Scout Home Association, Belvidere Ambulance Corps, Good Will Fire Company, or the Belvidere High School.
