Obituary of Lester Paul Stout

Lester P. (Bud) Stout, Jr. 95 a lifelong resident of Belvidere, NJ, passed away at his home on Thursday, January 19, 2023 with his loving family at his side.

Born on December 7, 1927 in Harmony Township, he was the son of the late Lester and Viola Cunningham Stout.

Lester was a graduate of Belvidere High School.  He was married for 56 years to the late Betty Hayes Stout.

Bud had worked for the First National Bank of Belvidere and then PNC Bank until his retirement in 1992. He was also the tax collector for the Town of Belvidere for many years.

Lester served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was an exempt member of the Belvidere Ambulance Corp., a past member of Warren Lodge #13 F.& A.M. and the Tall Cedars of Lebanon. Bud was a 50-year member of the Belvidere American Legion Post 131. Lester also served as a past president of the Belvidere Cemetery Association. He was a member of the Belvidere United Methodist Church.

Lester will be remembered by many for being seen sitting on his front porch.

In addition to his parents and wife Betty, Lester was predeceased by son-in-law Harry Williams; brother, William Stout; sisters, June Camp and Emily Hayes.

Surviving are his son, Lester (Paul) Stout III and his wife Joy; a daughter, Wellope Ann Williams; two grandsons, Christopher Stout and his wife Sarah of Telford, PA and Jonathan Williams  and his fiancée Samantha Kucson of Palmer Township, PA; two great-granddaughters, Caroline and Katie Stout.

The family would like to thank the wonderful caregivers of Home Instead and Community VNA.

Services will be private.
