Dear Dad, As time has passed on and you are no longer with us here on earth, I just feel that I must say a few things that I need to say.
First I want to tell you how very much you are missed. I cannot tell you how many times that I have reached for the phone just to call and say hi. I have been lost without your love and counsel and grieve your passing every single day. We were more than father and son and you felt it too as much as I. We were also friends and I cherish that relationship dearly.
Never has a son been so blessed as to have had two parents like you and Mom. You always saw the value of education and to that end gave me the ability to pursue my own in my own unorthodox way by allowing me to study and live in Spain as a young man. I know in my heart you and Mom enjoyed my Spanish life as was evident by the number of visits I recieved from you both either together or singularly. Yes we had a grand time and I thank you for that gift of love and forbearance.
My only joy in not having you by my side here is that you two are finally together and for that I am truly thankful. Please keep Ann-Marie and I in your sights as this knowledge sustains me through my tears.
I love and miss you Both.
