Obituary of Gerald E. Connolly

Gerald E. Connolly, 85, of Liberty Township, NJ, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 28, 2006, at the Care Center of Lopatcong, Lopatcong Township, NJ. Mr. Connolly had been the supervisor for the New Jersey State Department of Weights and Measures for 36 years before retiring. Born on June 18, 1920 in Rochester, NY, he was the son of the late Edward James and Mary H. Gorman Connolly. Mr. Connolly had served in the Army during WWII. Mr. Connolly was a parishioner of St. Patrick R.C. Church, Belvidere, NJ and served as an usher. Mr. Connolly was a member for over 50 years of the American Legion Post 131, Belvidere, NJ. His life memberships include; V.F.W. Post 10259; Oxford, NJ; D.A.V. NJ Chapter 48; Order of the Flees, Easton, PA; NJ Department of Weights and Measures Association; NJ State P.B.A.; Knights of Columbus Warren Council 474, Phillipsburg, NJ; and the Mountain Lake Fire Company. Mr. Connolly was predeceased by his wife, Lorraine Price Connolly, who died January 4, 1996 and a brother, James who died in 1995. Surviving are two daughters, Sharon Russ of Largo, FL and Kathleen Read of Blairstown, NJ; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Contributions may be made in his memory to the Mt.
