Condolences
Dear Betty and family,
I am so sorry to learn of Bud's death. Both you and Bud were so generous to the Special Olympics children who used to bowl at Bel-Pike back in the eighties. Your kindness meant a lot to the special athletes who always looked forward to that day. Also, your family was very special to Ron and I know you thought the world of him too.
Again, I am sorry for your loss. Please accept my condolences.
Sincerely,
Harriet Roemmelt Dufton

Dear Smith Family,
I am saddened by the loss of your dad. Charlie, I still think of you and your family often and hope that you got lots of good use out of that old motorcycle. My dad was so fond of your family; I have many happy memories of visiting your farm, bowling alley and ice cream stand as a kid growing up in Belvidere. I recently brought my 5 year old son to Belvidere with me to visit my dad's grave. We stopped for ice cream and while sitting in the back of our SUV, legs dangling beneath us, I was reminded of a time when we split wood for what seemed like hours in the fence row of one of your fields. How much I hated that task then but look back fondly on it today. I would give anything for my son to have to pleasure of splitting wood with his grandfather.
Much love to your family,
Ronda Roemmelt Prokopchak
Dear Smith family,
Just wanted to offer my sympathies. I used to bowl in the junior league at Bel-Pike Lanes back in the early and mid 70's. Although I can't say I knew him well, I have fond memories of Mr. Smith. He always had a smile on his face, even when I had to go up to the counter to ask him if he could get my little 8-pound ball unstuck from inside the ball return. I even remember the first time I bowled 3 strikes in a row .... I ran up to tell Mr. Smith, and, as he always did, he took a few moments to tell me that was terrific.
Anyway, my thoughts and prayers are with your family.
