Obituary of Ronald T. Ivins

Ronald T. Ivins, 73, of McCormick, SC, formerly of Belvidere, NJ, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at Praxis Facility, Easton, PA. Born on August 3, 1936 in Belvidere, NJ, he was the son of the late C. Tracy and Betty Blazier Ivins. Mr. Ivins served in the U.S. Navy from 1954 to 1957. He was a 1961 graduate of East Stroudsburg State Teacher's College. Mr. Ivins was a high school math teacher for over 37 years. He began his career at West Milford High School. The following 36 years of his career were at Blairstown High School and North Warren Regional High School, retiring in 1998. His retirement years were spent in McCormick, SC, where he enjoyed boating and golfing. Mr. Ivins was a member or NJREA, WCREA and NEA. Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Dolores Brodka Ivins; son, Tracy Ivins and his daughters Samantha and Kyle of Knowlton Township, NJ; son, Timothy Ivins and his wife Christine and their children Emily and Garret of Phillipsburg, NJ; daughter, Abigail Ivins of Mill Valley, CA; sister, Nancy Filiatrault of Belvidere, NJ; sister-in-law, Carol Hartung of Fredericksburg, VA; several nephews and nieces. In addition to his parents, Mr. Ivins was predeceased by an infant daughter Gwen who died in 1962.
