I went to high school with Bernie. He was a great wrestler in school and full of fun. We just saw him in November at our 55th class reunion. It's hard to believe that he passed so quickly. Rest in peace, Bernie.................condolences and peace to his family.
Dave,
I'm very sorry to hear about the sudden passing of your Dad. In reading his obituary it's clear he led a full and successful life. He certainly did a great job raising his son. You have inherited his gift of teaching and science. I'm certain he was very proud.

Mr. Hart was my favorite elementary school teacher. I'm so very sad to hear of his passing. He made science interesting for me! My prayers go out to his family.
My deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Mr. Hart. I had Mr. Hart as my science teacher in 7th and 8th grades, and he always remained one of my favorite teachers. I remember him with much fondness. May he rest in peace.
So sorry to hear my friend & coleague has passed away. My son declared when he had Bernie for middle school science "Mr. Hart is better than Mr Wizzard!" Mr. Wizzard was a pretty popular tv show, so it was a great compliment, from a 13 year old! I am glad I told Bernie!
My condolences to the family on the loss of Mr. Hart, an awesome science teacher, thanks for making all you classes memorable. "You're all pinheads!" was a common phrase of his! Looking back some 30 plus years, maybe he was right, we were all pinheads back then.
R.I.P. Mr. Hart, you'll be missed dearly by many.
Mr. Hart was a great teacher, my favorite teacher and I am truly sorry to hear of his passing.
To the family of Bernie Hart:
Your dad was my Science teacher many years ago at Belvidere Elementary School. I think that was the only year that I loved Science. He was such a Great Teacher and a Great Man. As I got older, he was also a friend to my father's so I was able to get to know him on a personal level. It was honor to know him. He will be missed by so many. He left a legacy at Belvidere not only for being a Great Teacher but also a Great Wrestling Coach to so many Belvidere Athletics. My sincere condolence's to your family in your loss of such a GREAT MAN! Rest in Peace Mr. Hart (Bernie)!
I am very sad to learn about Mr. Hart's passing. I haven't been a student of his in about 30 years, but I have some fond memories of him. As a teacher, he often seemed bemused and even frustrated with us students. "You're all pinheads!" was a common phrase of his! But after moving on from elementary school and getting to know him as an adult in passing around town, I realized that he was a very nice man, and probably a saint for putting up with some of us. My condolences to his family and friends.

It was a pleasure to work with Bernie at Belvidere Elementary School. He was a dedicated teacher, coach, and mentor. Lunch times in the teachers' room with him were fun and unforgettable.
So sorry to hear.
I went to Belvidere and Mr. Hart was my science teacher.
I still remember having to learn all the bones in the body. I still can name a few!
I truly enjoyed his class and it was all in fun when he called a few of the boys pinheads.
Many prayers to the family.
I have such fond memories of this Good Man. He was a gentle giant who helped me mentor my sons Jamie and Brandon Fox when they were boys. He had a big heart and so loved his family. My lasting memory is of how he expressed such gratitude when helping his son David in preschool. He will be missed but find comfort in knowing how much you were loved
Mr. Hart was one of those souls that stays with you forever. I'm sure I can speak for so many of his students when I say he was an amazing teacher and an all around genuine human being. I ran into him often around town and he always had a smile on his face, which brought a smile to mine!
My heart goes out to all of his loved ones. I hope you find comfort knowing that he lives on through all of you and all of us
My sincere condolences to Mr. Hart's family and friends. I have not seen Mr. Hart since I graduated in '77, however, I remember him as a very good teacher and coach. God Bless, Mr. Hart! May you rest in Peace. Su Eichel Miller

A wonderful teacher, coach, father and dedicated to his community. Mr. Hart will be missed. He was one of the first male teachers I encountered at Belvidere. I remember him as exceptionally kind and mostly soft spoken. He will be missed.
My condolences and prayers to his family and many friends. May God grant you His peace during this time. I know we will meet again.
