Obituary of Charles R. Troop

Charles R. Troop, of the Brookfield section of White Township, Belvidere, NJ, passed away on Wednesday, June 13, 2018, at the age of 92. Friends are invited to visit from 3 pm to 5 pm, Friday, June 15, 2018, at the MacFadden Funeral Home, 325 Hardwick St., Belvidere, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM, Saturday, June 16, 2018 at St. Patrick R.C. Church, Belvidere, NJ. Interment with Military Honors will follow in the Cedar Ridge Cemetery, Blairstown, NJ. Known as Charlie by his friends and family, he was born on July 6, 1925, in Jersey City, NJ, to Charles Troop and Madeline (Hausmann) Troop. Devoted husband, loving father and family man, Charlie was deeply religious. He was a veteran of World War II, serving honorably in the Seabees. He was a union man, working as a printer for various newspapers up until his retirement. An avid angler, birder, and cat lover, Charlie enjoyed spending time outdoors. He was kind to all he met. Charlie is survived by his wife of 65 years, Bernice C. Troop; a daughter, Patricia A. Romano; three granddaughters, Jennifer L. Guinivan, Melissa L. Troop and Emily R. Peeples; a great granddaughter, Kayla G. Guinivan; a daughter-in-law, Donna M. Troop; a son-in-law, Robert J. Romano, Jr., all of whom loved him dearly. He was predeceased by a son, Michael C. Troop; three sisters, Elizabeth Gorman, Madeline King and Constance Novak; a brother, William Troop. Charlie will be missed by his family and the many friends he made during his life.
