Gus, Erik and family,
Our deepest condolence for the loss of your father. We will always remember Sven as a very kind and generous person and we always enjoyed his subtle sense of humour whenever we've got together. Unforgettable Sven's and Helga's heartfelt hospitality at the time we visited them in their openminded house in Belvidere. We've spent wonderful hours with both of them. They will be a tresure in our memories. May they rest in peace.
Our heartiest sympathies are with you and your family.
Sorry for your loss sending prayers
Erik, Gus, grandchildren & family
So sorry to see a very good man leave. He was my Mom & Dad's landlord and treated them wonderful. He was my brother in law's Father, and my nephew's grandfather. I spoke to him & Helga many times during the years my parents were there. When my parents were gone he offered me a wonderful deal to live there which I wish I would have taken. He was a very caring and kind man involved in many organizations. He was a legend in Belvidere and will be missed greatly. Again to all I offer my prayers for comfort & peace at this time of grief. RIP SVEN
Eric, Gus and family. We thank God for having the opportunity to know Sven.
His many acts of kindness and support given willingly, and without expectation of personal gain or even recognition will live on with us in all of our hearts and memory. Having worked with Sven when our Historic Military Vehicle hobby was being pulled apart by others, Sven was a wonderful ally, and was always guided by his sense of right, whether popular or not. We all have learned so much from your Dad's example of openness, fairness, generosity, his strong moral compass, and his humble demeanor hiding his successful business career.
I hope that the fact that these traits if your Dad's character are recognized and acknowledged by others gives you some comfort as you grieve. It does to us. We will likely never meet another like him, and so are grateful for having Sven in our life.
God bless you and all of Sven's many friends and family as their loss turns to thanks, as ours have.

Gus, Erik and family, the Military Transport Association (which Sven was a member of), would like to express our club's condolences on his passing. As president, I have received many expressions of sadness from MTA members on the loss of our dear friend. He was truly a cornerstone of the vintage military vehicle hobby. If its any consolation, we know he is back with Helga now. He will be missed. Albert Mellini, MTA President.
We are saddened at the passing of Sven. Sending prayers to his Sons and their family at this time of sorrow. We knew Sven through the Red Ball Military Club, Always enjoyed his company. Jim Conway & Roberta Housel
